SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND

Fingerprinting Amines

Pathological conditions in the human body may be expressed by the formation of biogenic amines, so that elevated levels of these amines may be indicative of dysfunctions. 3QBD’s application detects the presence of those amines that are associated with vaginosis.
The simple procedure described below provides a "fingerprint" for each amine, allowing for accurate assessment of each amine and therefore of the patient’s condition.

The chart above illustrates the "fingerprints" of two samples taken from the same patient with a bacterial vaginosis infection, before and after treatment.
The red line shows the VGTest device reading before treatment, when the patient had BV. The blue line is the reading after treatment.
It clearly shows how sensitive the test is to the level of Amine A, allowing for the accurate diagnosis of BV.
Since the amine level varies considerably, the disease can be diagnosed even if the patient is otherwise asymptomatic.
