The 3QBD SOLUTION

Bringing Proven Technology to Vaginal Infection Diagnosis

Based on world-proven Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology, 3QBD's patented VGTest device will transform the field of gynecological diagnosis and treatment, allowing physicians to upgrade the care their patients now receive.

For the first time, The VGTest  diagnoses within 60 seconds whether Bacterial Vaginosis infection is present , allowing for immediate correct and effective treatment.

The device is easy and quick to operate, requiring simply a swab of vaginal fluid which the doctor then inserts into the VGTest device. Within one minute, the device will detect whether an infection is indeed present, and if so, classify it as vaginosis, candidiasis (late 2010) or trichomoniasis (late 2010)

Upgrading & Updating Current Practice

On a staggering scale, women of all ages throughout the world suffer not only from vaginal infections, but from improperly diagnosed and treated infections. This leads to pain, discomfort and conditions that continue to worsen rather than improve. Until now an accurate and full diagnosis of vaginal infections has been a fairly lengthy and expensive process.

Relying on complicated, expensive and time-consuming Gram  Stain tests and unpleasant and often inaccurate ‘Whiff’ tests (Amsel) , physicians today take a sample and then send it off to the laboratory for evaluation.
While they wait to receive results – sometimes for weeks at a time – the patient is also waiting, in pain and distress, before she receives the correct diagnosis and treatment.

The matter becomes even more serious when patients are pregnant or in need of gynecological surgery. Bacterial vaginosis in pregnant women has been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes - including premature rupture of the membranes, preterm labor, low birth weight, intra-amniotic infection, postpartum endometritis, and post-cesarean lesion infection - so a rapid and accurate diagnosis is of the utmost importance to maintain the health of both mother and child. In addition, OBGYN-related surgery performed in the presence of these infections can have dire consequences. Therefore it is vital that such infections be diagnosed and treated as early as possible.

Too often, in the absence of an immediate diagnosis, doctors will prescribe a barrage of treatments – including antibiotics – which may be useless or even counter-productive. If the patient is suffering from candidiasis, which is a yeast infection, not only will some medications not help, they may actually exacerbate the condition.

Until now, there was no solution that could rapidly and efficiently diagnose if an infection was present, least of all go onto detect the exactl type of infection.

Today, 3QBD has the solution:
The VGTest - and it takes exactly one minute.
